As part of their Packwood Award activities, our Form 7 pupils recently enjoyed an enriching visit to Shrewsbury School, making the most of the expertise available across the Shrewsbury Family of Schools.
They took part in bespoke Music Technology workshops led by Mr Shelley, which introduced them to the role of music technology within the world of recorded music. During the sessions, pupils explored and analysed songs from both past and present, developing their understanding of how technology shapes sound, production and performance.
The workshops concluded with a practical and collaborative challenge, as the two Year 7 forms each recorded their own version of a Beatles song. These recordings will be edited together, and pupils are eagerly awaiting the finished piece.
We are very grateful to Mr Shelley and Mrs McKenzie for organising such a stimulating and memorable experience, which offered our pupils valuable insight into a creative and rapidly evolving area of music.
