The new academic year began with great energy and enthusiasm as our first boarders arrived at the newly refurbished Warren House. Our international pupils were the first to settle in, greeted by a group of seasoned Packwoodian boarders who were on hand to help carry bags, give tours, and share their excitement about the wonderful new facilities. The sense of community was immediate, with friendships forming quickly and new arrivals already feeling very much at home.
By late afternoon, returning boarders joined the group, and the Warren was once again filled with the warmth of shared stories of holiday adventures and fishing tales, laughter, hugs and the joy of reunion after the summer break. Following a chance to unpack and settle, everyone gathered outside to enjoy a welcome barbecue, interrupted by an unexpected downpour! Parents then said their goodbyes, and the boarding community began to find its rhythm for the term ahead.
It has been wonderful to see the camaraderie between our full and flexi boarders, with nearly 80 children enjoying the all new Warren. The kindness, helpfulness, and positivity shown by the pupils have been especially striking, creating a strong foundation for the weeks to come. Weekend activities begin with an exhilarating session of laser quest and the ever-popular Crocky Trail, with plenty more exciting adventures planned for the term.
At Packwood, boarding life is at the heart of our community. We are proud of the way our pupils embrace every opportunity, support one another, and bring such joy to the start of the year.
