The Acorns Cricket Festival took place this week. One of the highlights of the summer term for parents and pupils alike, and in the end, the weather was perfect. Acorns pupils took part in a series of mini games. The games were adapted to showcase early cricket skills including batting and fielding. Reception and Form One pupils played ‘Rapid Fire Cricket’. They took turns to hit balls off tees and then score runs whilst the fielding team collect and reset the balls. Form Two pupils played a more traditional game and hit the ball directly from an experienced bowler. Overall, we saw some great teamwork and some future cricketing stars!
Spot prizes were awarded for endeavour, teamwork and moment of the day. All children received a handwritten postcard with words of encouragement for following the Packwood Way and being good sports.
