Our first service of the school year was a joyful celebration of Harvest, held in Ruyton Parish Church and led by Revd. Lucinda. The church was beautifully decorated, and it was wonderful to see pupils, staff, and several of our families gathered together in thanksgiving for all that we have and share.
Families had donated an extraordinary amount of food for the Oswestry Food Bank, who, when the Head delivered our donations to them, expressed their sincere gratitude for the generosity of the Packwood community. The sight of these donations on the altar, and then collected by the individual pupils served as a powerful reminder of the difference that kindness and community spirit can make.
Our Junior Choirs sang beautifully; their performances captured the spirit of Harvest perfectly – joy, gratitude, and togetherness.
In her address, Revd. Lucinda spoke about appreciating all that we have and recognising our responsibility to give back to others. Her message encouraged pupils to think about gratitude not just as a feeling, but as something that inspires action.
It was a fitting and uplifting start to the new school year – a moment of reflection, generosity, and shared purpose at the heart of the Packwood community.
