On Sunday 24 January, Packwood was proud to host the West Midlands Épée Competition, welcoming over 100 young fencers from across the region for a day of high-quality competition and sporting camaraderie. The event showcased an impressive standard of fencing throughout, supported by a lively and encouraging atmosphere from coaches, families and fellow competitors on the sidelines.
We are delighted that seven Packwood pupils have qualified for the National Finals, to be held in May 2026, a fantastic achievement and a testament to their hard work and growing expertise in the sport.
Thanks to Mr Weston, our own British Fencing Coach, and Deputy Head, all everyone involved in ensuring the event ran smoothly and successfully from start to finish, and congratulations to all those who took part.
