Packwood was buzzing with excitement for our Year 2 and Year 3 Stay and Play event, a wonderful morning filled with laughter, creativity and new friendships. The event brought together all of our current Form 3 children, who were delighted to welcome current Form 2 pupils to join them for a carousel of engaging activities. We were also thrilled to invite external children who are not yet part of the Packwood community, and it was especially lovely to have a group of super Year 2 girls join us for the morning.
The children rotated around a variety of activities, including Art, PE and a classroom session in the Form 3 room. Each activity was designed to give everyone a taste of life in Form 3, while encouraging teamwork and confidence. Budding artists produced colourful creations, energetic games in PE kept spirits high, and the classroom activity gave children a chance to explore learning in a fun and interactive way.
Our fantastic Form 8 helpers led the groups around each station with great care and enthusiasm. They were wonderful role models, ensuring everyone felt included and supported throughout the morning.
A highlight of the event was the stunning birthday-party-style lunch served in the Old Library. The tables were filled with delicious treats, and the atmosphere was one of celebration and joy. One guest was overheard saying, “That was the best food I have had in my life!” — high praise indeed.
As the morning drew to a close, each child departed with their very own Woodi the Cupcake Owl, a sweet reminder of a very special day. Most importantly, new friendships were formed, and many children left already hoping to see each other again soon.
