Food at Packwood

Quite simply, the food at Packwood is fantastic. It is all cooked at school from fresh, locally sourced produce.

There is always lots of choice and plenty to eat – from homemade soup with freshly baked bread to chicken and ham pie with mash and gravy, there is always something for everyone. Meal times at Packwood give the children an opportunity to sit and talk to their friends and teachers whilst enjoying their food in a family style environment, with a focus on good table manners.

For lunch, Acorns are served their meal at their tables, whilst the older children make their selection from the servery. There is always a vegetarian option available as well as a salad bar and freshly made soup.

Boarders enjoy a range of hot and cold selections for breakfast whilst supper is a two-course meal, which day children can opt to stay for. In addition, snacks, such as homemade biscuits or vegetable crudités, are provided for the children at break times and fresh fruit is always on offer. The weekly menus are carefully considered to give a balance and broad range of meals which are well-liked by the children. There is also a school food council where pupils can put forward their ideas.

We cater for all dietary requirements, including any food allergies.

On Wednesday and Saturday afternoons our legendary match teas are served to parents in the Front Hall. Often following a seasonal theme, there is always a wide range of homemade cakes and sandwiches – we are told they are a real highlight of the week for many parents.

Every day my daughter sends a list of what she has eaten and it all sounds wonderful. The school is very hospitable and the match teas are beyond amazing!
