The Juniors have been working hard in audition sessions for the Junior production of ‘The Wind in The Willows’ which will be staged in The Malcolm Mitchell Theatre . The production will be the ‘Young@Part’ adaptation of the musical version which played in the West End in 2017. The music and lyrics are by George Stiles and Athony Drewe who are the same writing team involved in the smash hit Disney musical ‘Mary Poppins’. The ‘Young@Part’ adaptations provide the opportunity for young casts to perform the same scripts and music featured in professional productions whilst ensuring that the content of shows is engaging and appropriate for younger performers.
Year 5 and 6 can look forward to recreating the idyllic river banks, the wild wood and also ‘taking over’ Toad’s Hall as part of our re-telling of this classic story. With our setting in rural Shropshire and our very own ‘big tree’ and wildlife, we can’t wait to bring the natural environment to the stage and bring these beloved characters to life.
