From the launch of girls’ football to whole-school cross-country, every Packwoodian has been part of an exciting start to the sporting year.
It’s been a busy few weeks with all pupils actively involved in fixtures – even our newest Form 3s have experienced the excitement of match teas and the busy life of a Packwoodian.
All our pupils have been training hard and representing the school in matches with great enthusiasm. Whether on the hockey pitch or football field, the children showed teamwork, determination, and plenty of smiles along the way.
We are especially excited to announce the launch of girls’ football at Packwood. Our girls have taken to the pitch with energy and confidence, and it’s wonderful to see them building skills and enjoying the game together. The U11 girls will start their playing journey with an international fixture against a touring side from Shrewsbury School Bangkok whilst details are soon to be announced for the U13 team’s first match against Shrewsbury School.
The cross-country relays brought the whole school together in fine sporting spirit. Congratulations to Manning Soddens, who were victorious on the day. A special mention must go to Bradshaw Boyces, who should be commended for the camaraderie and support that older pupils gave to each and every runner. A true example of Packwoodian spirit.
Our U9 football and hockey festivals saw fantastic play against Ellesmere College, Prestfelde, Wrekin Prep, and Myddle Primary School. The children showed determination, skill, and excellent sportsmanship in every match.
It has also been busy for our U11 and U13 teams, with hockey festivals and football matches. Every single pupil has been involved, making it a brilliant month of sport and teamwork.
Of course, no match day would be complete without our wonderful match teas, which were enjoyed by players, staff, and parents alike. Delicious treats and warm chatter rounded off the afternoons perfectly.
Well done to all our pupils for their hard work and energy this week – we look forward to even more exciting fixtures ahead.
