Acorns recently enjoyed a fantastic Ice Worlds Theme Day, with the children taking part in a carousel of activities throughout the day, proudly dressed in their Ice Worlds costumes, which added to the excitement and sense of occasion.
In small groups, they rotated between drama, where they explored how penguins move by waddling, sliding and flapping their bodies, creative art, where they made stunning Northern Lights pictures using a variety of media, and design and investigation, where they built sledges for a penguin and tested how well they moved across different surfaces to explore friction. The rotating activities kept the children highly engaged and allowed them to learn through movement, creativity and hands-on problem solving.
