Friends of Packwood

One of the things that families often tell us they value most about Packwood is our strong sense of community. At the heart of this is the Friends of Packwood (FoP), bringing families together through social events, fundraising initiatives and shared experiences that enrich school life for everyone.

For us, the central purpose of FoP is connection. It provides opportunities for parents and guardians to get to know one another, build lasting friendships and become part of the warm and welcoming community that surrounds our children. As we welcome many new families each year, FoP plays a vital role in helping everyone feel at home from the very beginning.

Following the fantastic work of founding Chair, Rachael Chambers, who established FoP and built such strong foundations, we are delighted to welcome Laura Haythorn as the new Chair. Laura is excited to build on this success and continue growing FoP for the benefit of the whole school community. The recent FoP Quiz Night was a wonderful example of this spirit in action. With plenty of laughter, some fiercely competitive quizzing and our very own Quizmaster, Mr Weston, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening that also raised an impressive £606.87 for FoP and this year’s chosen charity, North West Cancer Research.

FoP also runs our popular second-hand uniform shop, FoP Shop, offering families a sustainable and affordable way to purchase high-quality uniform. The FoP Shop opening times for the remainder of the Summer Term and over the summer holidays are:

Summer Term

  • Wednesdays: 2.00pm – 3.45pm
  • Saturdays: 2.00pm – 4.00pm (excluding Saturday 4 July)
  • New Pupil Day – Monday 29 June: 8.00am – 10.00am

Summer Holidays

  • Wednesday 26 August: 11.00am – 12.00pm
  • Wednesday 2 September: 11.00am – 12.00pm
  • Sunday 6 September: 5.00pm – 6.30pm

For prospective families, FoP offers a wonderful way to become part of the Packwood community, make new friends and share in the many memorable moments that extend beyond the classroom. It reflects everything we value at Packwood: kindness, connection and a genuine sense of belonging. We very much look forward to welcoming you.
