A Celebration of Energy, Effort and Team Spirit

“Push yourself, support each other, and enjoy every moment – that’s what HYROX is all about.”

A massive congratulations to all of our Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 pupils who took part in Packwood’s HYROX inspired competition, held on Saturday 27th June. The event was a huge success, giving pupils the chance to experience something completely new and exciting.

From start to finish, the atmosphere was electric, with motivational tunes and an all-round supportive feel. The determination, resilience, and positivity on display were outstanding, with pupils embracing every challenge and showing a fantastic growth mindset throughout.

In the U9 Boys competition, Kit and Reuben delivered an excellent performance, while Eleanor and Poppy had a very strong race winning the U9 Girls event. Alistair and Kyle were victorious in the U11 Boys, with Eleanor and Amelia taking the honors in the U11 Girls. Isa and Freddie were recognized for their growth mindset, while Molly and Arthur received the effort awards.

What stood out most was the incredible teamwork and encouragement shown throughout the day. Pupils supported each other at every stage, creating a positive and motivational environment. There were also some brilliant touches of fun, including fantastic matching hairstyles adding to the team spirit within each pair.

A huge thank you to our Year 8 volunteers, whose support was invaluable. Geordie managed the Roxzone superbly, George provided fantastic encouragement on the wall balls and Esme and Alex gave excellent technical support on the rower. Adam also played a key role, leading each wave around their opening lap and setting a positive tone from the outset.

Reflecting on the event, one member of staff said, “It was incredible to see pupils throw themselves into something completely new with such enthusiasm and determination. The support they showed one another really captured the spirit of Packwood.”

The event was more than just a challenge; it was a celebration of teamwork, resilience, and trying something new. As one pupil said, “It was hard, but it was the best thing we’ve ever done because everyone kept cheering you on”.

We are incredibly proud of all who took part and look forward to building on this fantastic event in the future.
