Stop Press – Packwood Awarded ISEB Common Entrance Gold Status

On the back of successive years of high scoring results in the Common Entrance Examinations, sat by our Form 8s in June each year, ISEB – the Independent Examinations Board – have awarded Packwood Gold Status. This reflects our approach to Common Entrance, a rigorous suite of summative assessments which all of Form 8 prepare for.

On receiving the news, Head, Will Goldsmith, commented, “we are delighted to be recognised by ISEB for our commitment to a challenging curriculum and assessment framework, which sets pupils up well for Year 9 and beyond at senior school. We believe in a knowledge rich taught syllabus, which complements our approach to teaching – Curriculum SOAR”.

Charlotte Jackson-Hutt, Deputy Head (Academic Life), reflected on the recognition as “validation of Packwood’s approach to giving every pupil something callenging to aim for and in enabling them to have a sense of achievement as they receive their results in June each year”.

In addition to the suite of examinations, our Form 8s prepare for performative applied learning tasks and will, for the second year, prepare for the iPQ – Independent Project Qualification.
