As we reach the end of the first few weeks of term, it has been wonderful to see such a positive and purposeful start across the school. Pupils have returned refreshed, motivated and ready to embrace new challenges, and classrooms have quickly settled into a productive rhythm, with new exercise books rapidly filling up and a renewed focus on our ‘Packwood Way: Learning and Teaching’.
Forms 3-6 have adapted particularly well to their new Study Time sessions, using these dedicated slots to reinforce key skills through daily spelling and times-tables practice, alongside some beautifully presented handwriting work. There has been a real buzz around the school as pupils establish strong routines and develop habits that will serve them well throughout the year.
For many of our senior pupils, scholarship preparation and pre-test practice are already well underway as the first round of assessment days comes into view. It has been particularly encouraging to see pupils embracing these opportunities with enthusiasm and determination.
The pupils are not the only ones learning, as staff have also begun this year’s professional learning journey through our CPD and Individual Development Programme (IDP), continuing our commitment to reflection, growth and excellence in teaching.
It has been a wonderful start to the academic year, and we look forward to building on this momentum as the term progresses.
