Acorns pupils hosted a wonderful art exhibition and afternoon tea for their families earlier this term.
The pupils produced some fabulous artwork linked to the theme, ‘An African Adventure’. They created baboons, African huts, zebras and sunsets, all using different techniques, media and materials. They worked with Acorns teachers and Miss Gill, prep school art teacher, to produce their pieces and were delighted to invite their families into school to view their endeavours.
The pupils were hoping that their families would buy the artwork and had voted to donate the money to Chester Zoo by adopting a giraffe. Giraffes were a particular favourite with the children on their recent trip to the zoo and everyone was thrilled to be able to support conservation projects to protect these magnificent animals.
The afternoon was a great success, and, thanks to the generosity of Acorns families, the pupils raised an impressive £428 to donate to the zoo and they cannot wait to adopt a giraffe.
