Adventures in The Warren

As we hurtle towards half term it has been another busy few weeks in the Warren . ‘The Warren…what’s that?’ I hear you say… well, it’s the new name for The Boys’ Boarding House and we are all rapidly getting used to it. We continue to very much appreciate our senior boarders and the excellent example that they have been setting to their younger house brothers.  It has been exciting to see some new faces receiving the greens of the week award, achieved for kindness and helpfulness and extremely pleasing to see the gratitude that those receiving their prizes have shown to house staff.

Recent weekend activities have involved the cross-country competition at Shrewsbury and we are very proud of all those who took part, whether they finished right at the front winning medals or in other positions in the pack.  Others enjoyed the Crocky trail, an extremely fun adventure trail, incorporating slides and activities, rather more energetic than the traditional family walk following Sunday lunch.

This week some of the boys also helped hand over a multitude of old rugby shirts to SOS Kit AID. The shirts will travel to disadvantaged areas across the world, helping to kit out childrens’ teams. Look out for future rugby stars across the globe wearing the green and blue of Packwood.

The boarding house renovations continue with a new bathroom on the Year 6 landing. Hooray! Sickbay has been renamed as The Nest, which is seen by all as a rather more friendly name for what has always been a cosy and homely spot in which to recuperate, and developments continue apace.
