Packwood Acorns recently travelled to Wrexham to visit Xplore, its fascinating Science Discovery Centre. There was much excitement about the vast array of interactive and educational activities on offer, with the first workshop following the theme of construction. The children worked together to build the tallest towers possible, to experiment with creating various 2D and 3D shapes, and to construct bridges and various modes of transport.
After lunch, the focus turned to space exploration, offering an insight into what it would be like to live in space. Topics included water filtration, special space sleeping bags, how to retrieve objects floating in space, and the essential repair work that would need to be carried out, such as maintaining the space station’s solar panels.
The children returned to Packwood having enjoyed a highly engaging exploration of science and space.
