The Packwood boarders were treated to some wheel to wheel action this weekend courtesy of the British Touring Car Championship at Oulton Park in Cheshire. Pupils were immersed in the full experience, which included a pit walk and autograph signing session with the drivers before watching the action from the trackside.
We were also exclusively invited into the Carstore Power Max Racing Team garage shortly before the race to meet the engineer of one of the Vauxhall Astra cars, which start their life as ordinary road cars before having a complete rebuild and are converted into terrifyingly powerful beasts that can reach speeds of up to 150mph.
The children were lucky enough to receive an incredible goody bag before cheering on the Power Max team from a fantastic vantage point on the course. Other highlights included watching an F4 and Porsche Carrera GT race, before cooling down with a well earned ice cream!
