The Autumn term has marked the launch of The Friends of Packwood Committee also known as FoP, a key initiative within our 2030 Strategic Plan. The formation of the parent committee represents an important step in strengthening our strong sense of community amongst parents, pupils, staff and the friends of Packwood.
The committee didn’t let the dust settle and within weeks of their first meeting preparations were underway to support the much-anticipated return of the Packwood Christmas Fayre…
A Christmas message from The Friends of Packwood
As the children begin their well earned festive break , I wanted to take some time to update you all on the Friends of Packwood with two successful events under our belts.
First and foremost, a tremendous thank you to Hannah Walters , Cat Goldsmith and the team at school for bringing the Packwood Fayre back with a bang, and for allowing us, The Friends Of Packwood, to support. As Miss Stacey (clearly somewhat of a celebrity amongst the children!) and I handed out their sweet cones after lunch we witnessed how incredibly polite the children are. Our Friends stall, brimming with pocket money toys and the lucky dip bucket, was a huge success and the raffle and refreshments stalls, were equally as busy. I want to express my huge thanks to the parents who stepped in on the day – without them it wouldn’t have been possible . Many of you, whom I have spoken with, have said it was a super event, and I am sure this can now be cemented into the schools calendar for many more years to come.
This past Thursday, we had our magical wreath making workshop, kindly hosted by Alex Graham and Annie-Rose Chantler. It was the most wonderful afternoon, in front of a roaring fine with festive tunes and stunning wreaths created all round! A huge thanks to Annie-Rose and Alex for donating their time, talent and materials, and again to the parents who supported us by purchasing tickets and joining us for the event.
I’m delighted to report that across these two events we have raised a staggering £2,628.27 in just a matter of weeks. Many of you are already aware that this year our chosen charity is North West Cancer Research. Our aim is to host another two, possibly three events across the academic year to add to this, with 50% of profits going to the charity which is very close to the hearts of the Packwood community.
