Christmas Hats are definitely Packwood’s most treasured tradition, and probably the very best in the Prep School World. The children begin planning theirs from the start of term (and some will be planning their 2026 designs now), with the hard work in earnest from the start of November. The 2025 designs did not disappoint, with the added complexity that many children chose to create a duo and, in some cases, a trio of hats (making the seating plans for the Christmas Feast particularly complex). Revd. Lucinda and Mrs Goldsmith had the unenviable task of judging designs that ranged from the Tower of London to The Nativity Scene and pretty much everything in between.
This year’s hats competition coincided with our Christmas Lunch, prepared by our magnificent team in the kitchens. It was, as always, a very happy occasion bringing the school together.
