The CMW Epee, held in Solihull, provided a great chance for our fencers to put to the test the progress they have made in their training, in a competitive environment.
Fencing in U9, U11 and U13 age groups, most Packwood pupils were making their competitive debut, some as little as eight weeks into their fencing journey. It was great to see them all take responsibility for their kit (no small thing in fencing!) making new friends and taking ownership of their own learning progress. For the veterans and coaches it provided an early season catch up with the wider fencing family and the opportunity to identify areas to take back to the club sessions.
Congratulations to Billy and Alistair who were awarded medals, and indeed to all participants in embracing the competition so positively. Thanks go to the support crew on the road and also at home (for the delicious breakfast and packed lunches).
