The senior debating club delivered a highly enjoyable balloon debate last week, featuring a broad range of historical characters, including Nelson Mandela and Queen Elizabeth II.
Thirteen debaters filled the initial – metaphorical – air balloon, several of whom were debating in public for the first time. The pupils found the opening round challenging and exciting in equal measure, with the audience voting for their top four to remain afloat for the final round.
The overall winner was Iolo, representing Vlodymyr Zelensky, and all debaters impressed the audience with the depth of their research and their confidence on stage in front of the boarders.
