The Sixes (House) Music Competition was an ideal opportunity for the whole Prep School to get together just before half term. This year’s theme was Rodgers & Hammerstein and the set song, ‘Edelweiss’, proved popular and challenging for all four Sixes. Other songs were taken from The Sound of Music, South Pacific and The King & I. The staff of each Six had taught the songs in the preceding rehearsals and a lot of thought and energy had equally gone into the accompanying actions! Three soloists from each Six, ranging from Year 4 up to Year 8, also added to the competition.
This year’s adjudicator, Quentin Thomas, Director of Music at Oundle School, provided valuable and humorous feedback. Harcourt Clarkes ultimately took the trophy – by one mark – but the afternoon was enjoyed by all involved.
