Having won the North Shropshire competition, the Packwood senior girls claimed the runners-up spot in the Lady Taverners County Final, held on 14th March at Wrekin College. After winning all the group matches and narrowly beating Ellesmere College in the semi-final, Packwood lost in a terrific final to Newport Girls High.
The team showed great character in the final after a challenging start. After one over we were reduced to 2 for 4 wickets. Credit to Morganna and Luna for batting through most of the remaining overs to get us up to 57 from the 8 overs. Despite the best efforts of Evie and Lulie, who both claimed 2 wickets, Newport managed to get over the line with an over remaining. Congratulations to Newport and very well done to our girls who, throughout the tournament, have demonstrated determination, skill and teamwork.
