Packwood Acorns – Topics and Trips

Our trip to Blue Planet Aquarium was an unforgettable experience for Packwood Acorns. We explored a variety of marine ecosystems, from the vibrant coral reefs to the mysterious depths of the ocean. Highlights included watching the divers feed the stingrays and walking through the glass tunnel, where sharks, stingrays and many colourful fish swam just above our heads. We also learned about conservation efforts and how we can protect marine life. The interactive displays and touch pools allowed us to get up close to starfish, caimans and pufferfish to name a few. It was a fun, educational day that deepened our appreciation for the wonders of life in the ocean.

The start of October marked the beginning of Black History Month.  This week in our assemblies we have focused on celebrating influential figures like Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr., and Olympians such as Simone Biles and Usain Bolt. Through our assemblies we have learned about their bravery, kindness, and contributions to equality. This time of reflection has helped us understand the importance of respect and kindness for all.

We’re excited for our Big Blue Theme Day on Monday! Everyone will dress in blue, and we will explore the importance of marine life conservation through fun activities, games, and crafts. It’s a day to learn about the ocean, protect our planet, and celebrate our wonderful world!
