Last week, Packwood’s boarders embarked on a day trip to Chester Zoo. Despite the rainy weather, spirits remained high as the children gathered for picnics, sheltered beneath umbrellas, proving that a little rain couldn’t dampen their enthusiasm.
One of the trip’s highlights was meeting Edie, a baby giraffe whose height captivated the children. They compared their own height to the impressive stature of the young giraffe, which sparked plenty of curiosity.
The adventure continued as the group explored the zoo’s bat caves, where they watched in awe as bats flitted overhead. Another highlight was seeing tapirs during their feeding time, followed by a stop to see the playful orangutans and their adorable babies.
They were especially fortunate to catch a rare glimpse of a jaguar lounging peacefully, and the piranhas in their tanks fascinated everyone with their sharp teeth and swift movements.
The day at Chester Zoo was packed with excitement and discovery, making it a truly enjoyable experience for all.
