Having rescheduled the concert due to weather, it was a great relief to see almost perfect evening sunshine and nothing more than a gentle breeze for Monday’s Summer Concert. The grounds looked beautiful and the 80 children who were taking part had dressed smartly for the occasion.
Musicians were drawn from Years 3 to 8 inclusive and the musical items were varied. COPS began the concert with an excerpt from a Haydn Symphony; other ensembles performed music ranging from a March by Handel (String Quartet) to Pirates of the Caribbean (Clarinet Quartet), Thriller (Big Band) and Uptown Funk (Boys’ Choir). There were some lovely solos from some of our Year 8 musicians. A most enjoyable evening, and many congratulations to all those involved.
