What a start we have had to the year in Park House. There are a few new faces, but already it feels like we are all “part of the furniture”. Miss Harrower is the Resident Graduate who is wonderfully cheery, Mrs. Caithness (Mrs. C) and I are loving being in the thick of it once more. Whilst having a short break over exeat was nice, it felt a little eerie not hearing the tramp of feet above us in the evenings or having the morning walk up to breakfast.
Great success was had in the Ruyton show, with our Parkie Girls gaining a commendation for their efforts in the quiz, which given the questions were weighted towards local things, our team of newbies to the area still scored well, also securing a second and third in the wooden spoon decorating competition. More importantly, we had a super welcome from the local community and supporting the Fete was an experience for our overseas girls.
Last Friday saw a hive of activity for our fundraising day and the girls did us proud, a great effort was put in by all and the enthusiasm and enjoyment was infectious. The house really wouldn’t be the same without Matron Sara who turns out to have a wealth of hidden talent, or Miss G-C who is guiding us through the first weeks with Miss Gill. Their friendliness and care for all around them is brilliant. It has been a super start to the year. (Mr. Caithness)
