The U8 Boys took part in their first tag rugby fixtures on a particularly cold and wet Thursday. The boys all played well and worked hard to put in place the skills and techniques taught by Mr Rigby and Mr Wojda. They were encouraged and supported by Morgan (Y8) and Ruben (Y8) who refereed their games – several schools remarked how well they imparted their rugby wisdom amongst the younger pupils.
All of the U9 boys took part in both contact and touch rugby matches. It is important at this early stage in a player’s rugby life to ensure that the boys have the option of both forms of the game. Much was learnt on the pitch and Mr Robertson was very proud of the level of skill and effort that each and every boy displayed.
The U9 Girls were involved in netball and were offered their first opportunity to demonstrate their ‘snatch, catch, my ball’ to Miss Willis. Grace (Y8) and Sophie (Y8) were excellent ambassadors for Packwood and set a fine example of the outstanding pupils we are nurturing. They worked hard to ensure all of the girls knew where they were playing and which areas of the court they were allowed to step into.
