On Friday 20th January, pupils from Year 7 took part in a Musical Theatre Day at Shrewsbury School. This involved learning a song and a dance, which they integrated into a scene from the musical Guys and Dolls, in just a few hours. The pupils were split into different groups and completed a carousel of activities led by Shrewsbury School staff and ably assisted by Shrewsbury School students. The workshops were taught at a pace and it was fantastic to see pupils persevering and working together. Their hard work paid off and they demonstrated tenacity in their excellent performances for parents and staff at the end of the day.
It was a brilliant opportunity for our pupils to work with other students and staff at Shrewsbury school as well as enjoying the fantastic facilities and the brownies! It was wonderful to see the children applying what they have learned at Packwood in a different environment and context and immediately integrating with children from other schools. They simply could not stop dancing! Congratulations to all the year 7s who attended and many thanks to the Shrewsbury School Performing Arts team for providing such a beneficial opportunity.
