Pupils from Forms 3-4, and Forms 5-6 came together in their Sixes for a lively afternoon of team challenges, designed to test their problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills. While Forms 7 and 8 were busy rehearsing for this term’s much-anticipated production of Oliver, the younger pupils tackled a series of imaginative outdoor tasks – from negotiating ‘alligator-infested swamps’ to engineering safe passage across ‘canyons’, and even folding parachutes before launching their parachutists from height.
Blessed with crisp autumn sunshine and supported by an enthusiastic team of staff, each group was encouraged to think creatively, listen to one another and draw on the strengths of every team member. Scores were awarded not only for completing the challenges, but – more importantly – for the quality of teamwork on display.
Determination, kindness and perseverance were evident throughout, with pupils cheering one another on and celebrating collective success. It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon that strengthened friendships, built confidence and offered valuable lessons to carry forward. We look forward to further Sixes challenges ahead.
The scores were as follows:
Bradshaw Boyces 65
Harcourt Clarks 53
Manning Sodens 62
McFerran Wilsons 56
