Cricket

Packwood’s U13 girls were undefeated, to win both the District Round and County Finals in the U13 Lady Taverner’s Tournament.  The girls will represent Shropshire in the Midlands and Wales Regional Competition, to be held at Edgbaston on Thursday 20th April.

Our U13 boys won the North Shropshire Round of the Indoor Cricket Competition, and progress to the Shropshire Final next term.

A number of pupils have been selected for County Cricket, including Freya, Maddie and Willow (U13), Martha (U11) and Bella and Lizzie (U13 Development).

Frank and Ollie have been selected for the U13 boys, Dylan, Harry, Huwie and Lucas (U12) and Gabe, George, Louis, Morgan and Ruben (U11).

George has been selected for U13 District and Ferdi and Kyle for U11 District. Congratulations also go to Jess, who has been selected for the Wales U13 Cricket Squad.

We would like to congratulate all our young cricketers on their wonderful achievements, a result of enthusiasm, dedication and teamwork, and we look forward to a successful summer season.

Hockey

As we have continued to grow our hockey coaching and fixture list both for girls and boys, giving all Packwood pupils a chance to try the sport, it is gratifying that the U13 girls, U11 girls and U12 boys all qualified for the Midlands In2 Hockey Finals, hosted by Rugby School.

First to go were the U11 girls who came 4th at the regionals with some very impressive defending against some well know ‘veteran’ hockey schools. Well done to everyone who has picked up a stick and given hockey a go this term and last, it’s great to see the sport thriving at Packwood, with many more trophy successes no doubt in the future.

Rugby

As our U13 rugby team depart for the annual ‘Rosslyn Park’, noticeably with more food rations than overnight gear, it was the U11s who carried the flag, completing a second unbeaten season in succession, in front of the amassed faithful of the odd shaped ball. Our match teas were as robust and hearty as our playing. Thanks to all the ground staff, kitchen staff, matrons and cleaners for caring for the teams, home and hosted, so well.
