Year 3 have arrived in the Prep School with confidence and enthusiasm. They are settling in well, meeting all their new teachers, making new friends, trying new sports, instruments, activities, and engaging in new learning experiences.
In English, we’ve started the term with poetry; they have enjoyed reading, singing, reciting, and writing the Spike Milligan Poem, ‘Baby Sardine’. They have also written their own poems entitled, ‘What I didn’t do in the School Holidays’ – these were certainly interesting to read! In Maths, they have revisited their knowledge of various number bonds, refreshed their memory of familiar times tables and consolidated their understanding of the place value of numbers, partitioning into hundreds, tens and ones/units.
There has been great excitement growing for Art and DT and a lot of smiles as they have ventured back from their History and Geography lessons too. We have begun to spot many budding musicians, actors and sports personalities across the year group too. As well as all of this, they will be the first year group to enjoy learning in our incredible new Science labs.
We are excited to see the Year 3 children grow, learn and develop in so many ways, this year and beyond at Packwood.
