Pupils visiting a synagogue as part of their TPR learning

Year 6 TPR Trip

Year 6 recently visited a Synagogue in Birmingham, on Singers Hill, as part of their TPR topic on Judaism.

Mr Rowe welcomed the group into the Children’s Synagogue first – a room with colourful stained-glass windows, but relatively plain compared to the next part of the building. The pupils were amazed to see the grand main hall of the Synagogue, which included twelve huge pillars and twelve chandeliers on the ground floor. This was followed by a collective gasp of excitement when the doors of the Holy Ark were opened, to reveal several Torah scrolls, as well as a magnificent rose window with twelve petals.

An informative and enjoyable afternoon.
