Young children performing on stage with brightly coloured scarves

Acorns Open Assembly

This morning, the Packwood theatre was filled with parents eager to see their children perform, many of whom were on stage for the first time. Reception class began the open assembly by sharing their wonderful fireworks artwork, while excitedly calling out words like “bang,” “pop,” and “whizz” to describe the sounds of Bonfire Night.

Year 1 then recited an acrostic poem about Bonfire Night, their clear voices making the words come alive. This was followed by Year 2’s  performance of a short play about the Gunpowder Plot, engaging the audience with their portrayal of this historic event.

The performance concluded with all the children dancing to Katy Perry’s “Firework,” a lively end to a memorable and most enjoyable show.
