The new academic year has begun in excellent style for our equestrian team.
We are delighted to share that our riders will now be competing alongside those from Shrewsbury School under the combined banner of Shrewsbury Schools. This exciting development will enable us to field more teams, strengthen our presence at competitions, and further encourage pupils to enjoy and develop their riding through school life.
Adding to the good news, our riders enjoyed a highly successful outing to Southview Equestrian Centre. Competing in the 80/85cm show jumping class, the team secured an impressive 2nd place finish, earning qualification for the forthcoming National Schools Equestrian Association Championships at Addington in Buckinghamshire.
There were excellent performances across the board: two superb clear rounds from Bess and Hero, alongside strong rides from Jonjo and Lulie who both incurred just four faults. Their collective efforts in a large and competitive field, against many older riders, secured both their podium finish and their place at the Nationals.
We are immensely proud of the team’s achievement and grateful, too, for the exceptional horses that make these opportunities possible. The season ahead promises to be an exciting one, and we look forward to seeing our riders continue to flourish.
