It was a wonderful occasion to welcome back our 2020-2021 leavers and their parents for a special Old Packwood lunch. As always, we were struck by the ease with which the pupils slipped straight back into old friendships and relationships – it was as though they had never been apart.
The food was a real highlight too – a delicious roast beef lunch followed by a true Packwood favourite, apple crunch with hot custard. We’ve since had several lovely emails thanking us for such a special afternoon and commenting on how much they enjoyed it.
A particular highlight for Mr and Mrs G, and their boys, was watching the leavers pick up RipStiks and whizz down to ‘the bombie’. They commented that this was one of the things they loved about Packwood and, having now made lots of friends at other independent schools, they felt that very few schools give children the same freedom to simply get outside, play and have fun together.
It was a lovely reminder of what makes Packwood so special – the friendships, freedom, fun and sense of childhood that stay with our pupils long after they leave.
