On Tuesday and Thursday we hosted over two-hundred children from Alpha Academy Primary Schools in Stoke on Trent. We guided them through a number of activities, such as yoga, bushcraft and toasting marshmallows. The children explored Packwood’s wonderful grounds, enjoying a picnic lunch on the lawn.
Throughout the day hosting the children helped us develop a number of our own important life skills. We learnt how to show leadership and to communicate with our team.
We guided them around the school site, looking after them and answering questions, going to the theatre foyer, the Spinney and Acorns Woods. We helped them fly kites and learned about wildlife on the wellbeing walk, as well as crossing the swamp in team building.
The Packwood Form 7s really enjoyed it. We hope our visiting Year 4s did too.
“I loved it,” said Emma.
“It sounded like they had lots of fun,” said Bess.
“A learning opportunity for all,” said Isis.
Over the day we developed our leadership, empathy, and communication skills and helped them in fun and challenging activities. We hope they all enjoyed the day as much as we did!
