Once again it has been another exceptionally busy term in The Warren. The second half has hurtled by! The boys have navigated themselves through the challenges of play rehearsals, exams, and sporting tournaments far and wide. Everyone has responded brilliantly and most importantly cheered each other on in that indomitable Packwood way. We would particularly like to say a hearty well done to all our new boarders who started back in September – they have taken everything in their stride.
This half of term has been a rich tapestry of activity. We returned from half term and immediately warmed ourselves up with one of the highlights of the year, Bonfire Night. Everyone wrapped up in cosy hats, scarfs, and wellies to enjoy the fireworks. For some of the boys this was their first taster of boarding and a very special evening.
This was followed by a poignant Remembrance Day, where our senior boys helped lead the service, in which we remembered the fallen. Head Boy, Roddy, along with Head Girl, Grace, helped the the Year 8 children lead the way in laying the wreaths on the Sunday, and Morgan, George, Arthur and Alex sang beautifully in the village church as we came together with the local community to remember.
Those same boys sang beautifully at our joyful advent service at West Felton Church. The highlight for many this term has been the incredible production of Frozen Jr, where some of our boys took part front and back of stage so well done to Gus, Jonty, Roddy, Orlando, Alex, Oliver, George, Ferdi, Freddie, Morgan and Louis.
Back in the house, it has been the usual hive of activity in the evenings with the boys embracing all manner of activities and games. It has been a wonderful term and all the boys have been magnificent. We wish you all a fabulous Christmas break.
