For their first trip of the year, Packwood Acorns took a step back in time to visit Blists Hill Victorian Village near Ironbridge.
The children participated in workshops and enjoyed the hands on nature of the day. They explored authentic shops and houses, and were able to see what a working village looked like in Victorian times. They also toured the streets helping the postman deliver letters and saw characters at work. Candle making was a clear favourite activity of the day, with each pupil creating their own colourful candle to take home using traditional wax dipping technique. Finally the pupils visited the wash house and were asked to help to draw water from the pump to wash the clothes and dry them using the mangle.
The children showed a great deal of interest and engagement with this fantastic immersive event.
