Just before the half term break, Packwood’s U13A Netball team took part in the Shropshire Schools U13 Netball Plate competition. They demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and determination throughout.
In the pool, the team drew their first match against the Priory School and went on to win their matches with Ellesmere College and Oswestry School. On goal difference, they finished the pool in first place earning a place in the semi-finals. After a short break, the girls returned to the court with renewed energy and won their match with the Marches School to set up a rematch in the final with the Priory School. The girls dug deep to finish the match 6-6, forcing a golden goal conclusion. Against the centre pass, the girls turned over the ball and were able to come away victorious.
Since returning from the half term break, Packwood has hosted U13 netball and rugby tournaments, welcoming teams from several local schools in glorious Spring sunshine. The competition across both sports was strong, but our teams delivered great performances, showcasing their teamwork and determination.
Meanwhile, Packwood’s swimmers had an excellent outing at the IAPS Swimming Gala, demonstrating skill and perseverance in the pool. With impressive performances across various age groups, several podium finishes, and a number of personal bests, it was a day of achievement and progress.
These events have highlighted the talent and dedication of our athletes and reinforced the values of sportsmanship and teamwork that lie at the heart of Packwood sport. Well done to all involved!
