This morning, the children of Acorns performed their long-awaited play, “Springtime Surprise” to a full audience of parents. The play brought the vibrant change of seasons to life through the eyes of Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 children.
The show followed the transition from winter to spring, with winter stubbornly hanging on before the warmth of spring, the sun, and the rain helped to wake animals, flowers, and farm creatures. The children took on roles as narrators, animals, flowers, and even the sun, rain, and wind, each performing with enthusiasm and energy.
Notable moments included the lively dance to “I’m Still Standing” as the flowers bloomed, and the joyful closing number, “Walking on Sunshine,” which had everyone smiling and tapping their feet. The children also sang the popular school song, “Spring Chicken,” as a fun way to celebrate the season’s arrival.
After lots of hard work, the children truly showcased their creativity and teamwork. The performance was a perfect way to welcome the season of spring.
