This term, a small group of seniors have enjoyed exploring a variety of upcycling projects. Creating their own scrap books, designing posters using old magazines and newspapers, making pencil and paintbrush holders from old tin cans and glass jars, were some of the individual projects completed. We ended the term with a larger-scale group project to upcycle an old cable reel (which has been hanging around the maintenance yard for a few years) into a fun play table for the younger children in Acorns. It was a great success and the children in Acorns are thoroughly enjoying zooming toy cars down the tube and parking them in the brightly decorated garages.
