Year 8 pupils, Jonty and Aaron, teamed up with two Year 9 Shrewsbury School pupils, Cathy and Hayden, to compete in the West Midlands regional round of the UK Maths Trust Team Maths Challenge, for pupils from Year 9 and below.
The competition involved challenging maths questions across different formats that all required quick thinking and cooperation as a team. The team saw off tough competition from Old Swinford Hospital and Shrewsbury High School and a number of schools from the local area, and emerged victorious after three hours of intense calculations. They will take part in the National Final in London in June.
