St Alkmund’s Church is a beautiful church with an appreciative and welcoming congregation so we were delighted to be invited back to perform as part of the church’s lunchtime concert series.
It was encouraging to see so many pupils taking part – 47 in all – with large numbers in the choirs and Big Band. The Girls’ Choir began with two lovely anthems and the concert continued with a variety of solos and ensemble pieces. The Percussion Ensemble’s arrangement of ‘Mambo Italiano’ was particularly effective; Rino’s violin solo impressed everyone in the audience; and the Big Band brought the concert to a confident and bold finish.
