It was fantastic to welcome so many families to our recent Bushcraft Morning and to share a flavour of outdoor learning at Packwood.
The children began the morning by working together to build mini dens in the woodland, developing their teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills. They then enjoyed learning practical bushcraft techniques, including how to safely start a fire using natural materials. Working in small groups, the children successfully created their own mini fires under careful guidance – a real highlight of the morning – before enjoying a well-earned hot chocolate around the fire.
While the children were immersed in their bushcraft activities, parents enjoyed a thought-provoking and inspiring talk from James Shone. James shared his powerful reflections on resilience, confidence and helping young people to flourish, providing much food for thought and discussion.
The morning was a wonderful opportunity for children and parents alike to experience the unique blend of adventure, learning and community that sits at the heart of a Packwood education. We were delighted to see so many new friendships beginning to form and look forward to welcoming many of the families back to school in the future.
