As Mrs Rigby steps down from her role as Head of Acorns, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate her remarkable contribution to this very special part of Packwood.
Over the years, Mrs Rigby has led Acorns with warmth, kindness and unwavering dedication. She has been a passionate advocate for our youngest children, recognising just how important these early years are and creating an environment where pupils, staff and families have felt valued and supported.
Mrs Rigby has often said that Acorns is one of her favourite places in the School and that she loves spending time with the Acorns children. In fact, she has admitted that she would sometimes visit Acorns when she needed a moment of peace, which always makes us smile because, as anyone who knows Acorns will tell you, it is not exactly the quietest place at Packwood!
She has embraced every aspect of Acorns life with enthusiasm and a wonderful sense of fun. Many will remember her unforgettable appearance dressed as a woolly mammoth for our Ice Worlds Day, much to the delight of the children. She has also inspired countless conversations by sharing stories from her travels around the world, helping to bring classroom learning vividly to life.
Then there was the now legendary Acorns trip to the Gurdwara, where due to a rather unfortunate postcode mix-up, 35 pupils arrived at the wrong Gurdwara – a story that still raises a smile today.
To celebrate these stories and her time as Head of Acorns, the children recently enjoyed a special afternoon tea with Mrs Rigby. It was a fitting tribute and a wonderful opportunity to thank her for the care, commitment and enthusiasm she has brought to Acorns over the years. From everyone at Packwood, thank you, Mrs Rigby!
